1938 Kalamazoo KG-11 Acoustic Guitar, Burst w/ Case - Used

Epiphone is commonly known as Gibson's affordable guitar brand, however, prior to Gibson's acquisition of this competitor, the company manufactured budget-friendly guitars under the name "Kalamazoo." This 1938 Kalamazoo KG-11 Acoustic Guitar is a small piece of that storied history, and sports a unique vintage charm that helps tell its story. This used gem features a ladder braced spruce top, and a mahogany back and sides that all sport a totally unique Sunburst finish that fades from solid black, to a deeper red and then to a darker orange. With the finishes of KG-11's varying from year to year, this guitar is visually a totally unique piece of history.

The neck of the KG-11 is carved from Mahogany, sporting a larger Hard "V" neck profile offers a comfortable grip which was common for guitars built in this era. It also sports a 24.75" scale length, and the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is very dark with light red striping and tight grain, adding to this vintage beauty's charm.

Across the board, this KG-11 offers a totally authentic vintage playing experience, with a 12" fingerboard radius, open-back 3-in-line tuning machines and a  1.77" nut width. Its Rosewood bridge complements the overall tonal characteristics and aesthetic. This 1938 KG-11 is in very good condition- Its finish shows signs of checking across the body, and a back crack has been repaired with a support cleat added by our in-house technicians. The guitar shows signs of dings dents and scratches.
