Electronic Audio Experiments Citadel JFET Preamp/Overdrive Effect Pedal
Like a bastion of tone, the Electronic Audio Experiments Citadel stands tall and strong for fans of preamp-style overdrives. Capturing the essence of ever-present British amplifiers of the '60s and '70s, this extensively adjustable overdrive is primed for players to get into the weeds with their tones for expressive sonic profiles.
Rather than emulating any specific model of British '60s or '70s amplifier, Electronic Audio Experiments set out to capture the prevailing spirit of such amps with the Citadel. EAE originally came to the Citadel from a series of experiments with their Model feT pedal, eventually landing at this current model's conclusion – a "plexi-fied" Model feT with buckets of heat, grit, clarity, and more to mix through for authentic '60s and '70s sounds.
The Citadel features an array of six (count 'em) parameter controls to spike or dull "bright" frequencies, fill out or minimize full-bodied frequencies, or access an amp-like tone stack (Treble, Midrange, Bass) to intuitively mix through its vast spectrum of sounds. EAE's thorough analog design makes for a rich palette of sounds to play on lower to higher gain ranges – roll it all back for amp-like warmth or punch it all up for calculated chaos.
Electronic Audio Experiments are kings of the castle with their Citadel preamp-overdrive. Take on this stronghold and arm yourself with a new preamp arsenal.
