Electronic Audio Experiments Surveyor V2 Preamp Effect Pedal
Directly influenced by the now long-discontinued Instrument Voicing Preamp (IVP), the Electronic Audio Experiments Surveyor brings a compact re-interpretation to pedalboards everywhere.Â
The Surveyor delivers its sound through an unique analog signal path. Featuring a transformer-loaded "tube voice" generator, the preamp offers a distinct clangy tone with harsh attack at high treble settings. Uncommon to most drive effects, a two-band shelving EQ is placed before distortion is applied, allowing the user to select which frequency band to apply gain to. Tone ranging from light break-up, crunch, overdrive, and fuzz are all attainable through the Surveyor and can be applied to more than just guitar.
Using the Hi/Lo switch sets the range of gain control, while the BASS and TREBLE controls set the pre-clipping low shelf boost/cut frequency range. The GAIN control sets the overdrive/saturation equally amongst the frequent range and the overall volume output is located on the LEVEL knob.
Sometimes, a new take on a classic is more than enough to inspire time and time again.Â
