Gibson J-45 Standard Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Bluebonnet Gloss
Known as "The Workhorse" in its earliest days all the way to right now, we've got this Gibson J-45 Standard in a radiant bluebonnet gloss. As a rare look at Gibson's flagship acoustic guitar, this dazzling blue J-45 carries with it all the great tone and playability that have endured throughout the generations. This J-45 is all dressed up with nowhere to go. Care to pick it up?
In 1942, Gibson launched the J-45. Right after the United States' entry to the Second World War and during the tumultuous Great Depression, the J-45 was first introduced as an accessible entry point to the Gibson acoustic guitar line. The J-45 garnered a reputation of its own as a tonal powerhouse and a Swiss Army Knife of an instrument past the wartime years and beyond. This J-45 Standard summons all great sound that made it famous for the players of today.
This limited edition J-45 features a classic tonewood combination of solid Sitka spruce and solid mahogany in Gibson's iconic round shoulder dreadnought shape. Together, these woods produce a rich, bassy, and resonant voice that fits into so many different musical modes. Traditional scalloped X-Bracing lines the spruce top for enhancing tonal balance and projection. Assembled in Bozeman, Montana by Gibson's expert luthiers at the Gibson Acoustic factory, this J-45 plays beautifully.
The J-45 features a mahogany neck shaped in a comfortable SlimTaper profile. A gloss finish makes this neck seamless to play in the palm alongside a rosewood fingerboard lined with twenty frets and simple dot inlays. Enabling comfortable and articulate fretting, this rosewood board is exceptional way to translate musical ideas. This playability is backed up by a TUSQ nut and saddle combo, a rosewood bridge, and six Grover Rotomatic tuning machines for stably grounding strings. Onboard, LR Baggs VTC electronics translate the guitar's rich acoustic tones to the stage. This limited J-45 travels with an included Gibson hardshell case.
When the classics might seem so far in the past, so black-and-white, this J-45 is anything but. In fact, it's in full technicolor.
