This arrangement of wood tones is matched with a satin-finished utile neck. The guitar's neck, taking an Advance Response profile, plays seamlessly from lower to higher frets and inspires lengthy playing sessions. Sitting somewhere in the middle of Gibson acoustic neck profiles, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood's neck is perfectly shaped – not too thick, not too thin.

Rosewood strikes again on this Studio model alongside its back and sides, taking the role of the fingerboard. This rosewood board, lined with twenty standard-sized frets, inspires nimble playing and smooth fretting for all types of acoustic music. Mother-of-pearl Graduated Crown inlays line the rosewood while a sixteen-inch radius lays out for a flat feel and response.
