Iris Guitar Company BB Acoustic Guitar, Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany Back/Sides, Tobacco Burst

Iris Guitar Company BB Acoustic Guitar, Sitka Spruce Top, Mahogany Back/Sides, Tobacco Burst
This Iris Guitar Company BB Acoustic is a Parlor-style instrument based off models that came out of the folk boom of the ‘50s and ‘60s. This compact but potent instrument represents a what was a pivotal response to the burgeoning interest in acoustic music, and is particularly appealing to younger and entry-level players with its compact 3/4 size design, or anyone who wants a full-sized sound in a smaller body.
The BB, recognized as the smallest bodied model in the Iris lineup, offers dimensions made for comfort and playability. With a body length measuring a mere 17-1/4 inches and a total length of 37-3/4 inches, it showcases compact efficiency without compromising on quality. Its lower bout spans 13 inches, while the upper bout and waist measure 9-1/4 inches and 7-3/8 inches, respectively. The depth of this guitar ranges from 3-7/8 inches to 4-1/8 inches. The body features both a Firestripe pickguard, and Ivoroid binding, adding a retro flair.
With a top made of Sitka spruce, this guitar's resonance is supported by its mahogany back and sides, and furthered by the inclusion of scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing under its hood. Featuring a bolt-on mortise and tenon joint, the BB's neck offers a 24.75-inch scale length, with a bone nut measuring at 1-11/16 inch, and 2-7/32 inch bridge spacing. The fingerboard, made from Indian Rosewood and matching the bar-style bridge, features Iris' very small, plastic white dot inlays, with little to get in the way of the tightly-grained beauty of the dark wood. Atop the headstock, Golden Age Relic Brass tuners with off-white buttons surround the Iris logo.
Finished with an open pore, natural satin nitrocellulose finish, the BB's tonewoods are able to be put on full display, with a Tobaccoburst featured on its top, and the back highlighting the beauty of a slab of deep, dark mahogany with easily visible wood grain. This nitro finish promises graceful aging of this guitar, while allowing it to breathe and resonate freely. This instrument comes with a hard case included.
