Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker Combo Guitar Amplifier, 30 W
The Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker Combo revives the circuitry that helped define British blues rock, delivering 30 watts of dual-channel tube power through a pair of 12-inch Celestion G12M-25 Greenback speakers. This is the combo counterpart to the JTM45 head, offering the same tonal blueprintâalbeit in a more portable, cab-integrated package that forgoes a master volume in favor of classic touch responsiveness and raw output section dynamics.
The preamp is built around three ECC83 tubes plus a dedicated ECC83 phase splitter, feeding a power section with a pair of 5881s and a GZ34 tube rectifier. This combination retains the harmonic richness, sag, and dynamic response expected from an early-Marshall-style amplifier, staying faithful to the ampâs original design philosophy. The two channels are voiced distinctlyâChannel 1 emphasizes upper-midrange treble presence, while Channel 2 offers a more rounded tonal response. Both channels feature individual volume controls and dual input jacks with high and low sensitivity options, and can be jumpered together using a patch cable for greater tonal layering flexibility.
Tone shaping is accomplished through a traditional Presence-Bass-Middle-Treble EQ shared across both channels. Analog tube tremolo is built into Channel 2, with dedicated Speed and Intensity controls. This effect is driven by the tube section itself and responds organically to playing dynamics, providing authentic modulation without introducing digital artifacts or latency.
The 8-ohm combo cabinet houses two Celestion 25-watt Greenbacks, offering smooth mids, a restrained top end, and the breakup characteristics that made this configuration iconic.
