This Martin Custom Shop Dreadnought begins with an Adirondack Spruce top, reinforced with Adirondack Spruce bracing in Martin's Golden Era Forward Shifted Scalloped X pattern. This bracing style enhances the guitar's natural resonance and articulation, while the forward shifting style allows for greater bass response. It is an excellent detail to assist the inherent qualities of the Adirondack Spruce, often regarded as the pinnacle of top wood choices, to shine. This Martin D-18 Custom Shop guitar features a Sinker Mahogany back and sides construction. Sinker Mahogany not only imparts a rich, earthy tone but also delivers a responsive, dynamic playing experience.

This Custom Dreadnought features a Modified Low Oval neck carve with a High Performance Taper for effortless playability. Its Black Ebony fingerboard sports Martin's classic 16" radius and is adorned with Select Abalone inlays in the iconic Old Style 18 pattern.

Being a true acoustic Martin guitar, this 18-Style Dreadnought does not come equipped with electronics, leaving the choice entirely in your hands should you decide so. However in a live setting, a simple microphone and preamp will allow this Martin Custom to shine.

Additional notable features include an Old Style 18 Boltaron rosette, Black Ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle, and fan-favorite Waverly Tuners with BB Buttons, ensuring precise tuning and stability.
