Touting a rack mountable construction, the Tour Baby 100 is built with a 100 Watt class A/B solid-state power section and a single-ended JFET preamp stage to produce Orange tone—both clean and dirty power exude for fully sculpted guitar amplification. When utilizing the clean channel, a 2-band EQ is offered for bass and treble touchups, while the VCA compressor with "squashed" LED indicator smooths the signal for consistent, peak maintaining (or crushing) naturality. On the other hand, the dirty channel lends a 3-band EQ for bass boosting, mid scooping, or high pronouncing, and equips a presence knob for added high end, with a separate volume knob for footswitch enabled boosting.
As far as connections go, Orange implements two speaker outputs for 1 x 100 W at 8ohms, and 1 or 2 x 70 W at 16ohms. In addition, an XLR balanced output allows for D.I. connection to mixers and PA systems, with a ground lift button for tricky, noisy situations. A buffered FX loop supports pedal utilization without running directly into the preamp, and two separate footswitch inputs control clean and dirty channel switching as well as separate footswitch volume within the dirty channel.
