Beginning with PRS's classic solid mahogany body with an asymmetric top bevel, the S2 Vela is streamlined in design easily handled. This model’s unique offset, double-cutaway shape is visually striking and comfortably carried for playing casually or onstage. The mahogany body meets its pair with a set, scarfed mahogany neck in a PRS Pattern Regular shape. Combined with a twenty-two-fret rosewood fingerboard, the full experience of the neck is sleek and outfitted for fast playing. Iconic PRS Birds fret inlays adorn the rosewood for an unmistakable visual element.
This PRS S2 Vela is outfitted with a unique and dynamic PRS pickup configuration. Pickguard loaded with many musical places to go, a PRS DS-01 pickup in the treble position produces a punchy and powerful tone. This first sonic source is matched with a PRS Narrowfield pickup in the bass position to expand on the spectrum of sounds this guitar is capable of. A coil-tap tone control allows players to split the treble pickup to incorporate authentic single-coil tonality and get even more sonic mileage.
