This Special Run 217e lines up a fantastic set of specifications to get the whole experience off the ground. A Taylor Grand Concert body comes together with a combination of quality solid Sitka spruce and layered Big Leaf maple. The brightness of both woods makes for a sweet, chiming tone made warmer by the top's torrefied quality. Torrefaction, a process in which tonewoods are heat-treated to bake out imperfections and impart someĀ age for a richer sound, makes an appearance with this 217e. Taylor C-Class bracing lands with this torrefied top to add up to a guitar with a more modern level of balance and projection.
