The inspiration behind this endeavor stems from the sonic advancements achieved through their V-Class bracing. Architect Andy Powers, the driving force behind Taylor's designs, has extended his innovative touches to enhance playing comfort as well.

In the case of the maple/torrefied spruce Builder’s Edition 614ce, Taylor has combined V-Class bracing with player-friendly contouring, resulting in a guitar with a wonderfully ergonomic feel. Notable features contributing to the comfort factor include a beveled armrest with a beveled body edge treatment, a contoured cutaway with a finger bevel for enhanced fretting ease up the neck, gold Gotoh 510 tuners with a luxurious feel and a 21:1 gear ratio, and Taylor's Silent Satin finish, designed to reduce incidental noise during play.

Turning to the tonal aspects, the amalgamation of V-Class bracing, Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style, and the maple/torrefied spruce wood pairing results in an incredibly responsive guitar. The V-Class bracing contributes to more volume and sustain, improved harmonic agreement between notes, and consistent fullness across the fretboard. This enhances the sonic transparency of maple, providing a player-reflective character that can sound warm, bright, or adapt to the player's preferences.

The touch sensitivity is further accentuated by Taylor's proprietary roasting process for the torrefied Sitka spruce top. This process lowers the damping effect, delivering a more played-in tone. Aesthetically, the guitar boasts a new Wild Honey Burst on the top, back, sides, and neck. Additional visual highlights include Taylor's mother-of-pearl Sceptor fretboard/peghead inlay and inset maple/black body purfling with a matching rosette.
