2024 Taylor Custom Grand Auditorium C14ce Catch #43, Torrefied Sitka/East Indian Rosewood

This Taylor Custom Catch Grand Auditorium with a torrefied Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back/sides was one of Taylor's Namm 2024 model C14ce offerings. Taylor Guitars, long synonymous with innovative instruments, has continued to push boundaries since 1974, with this instrument being no exception.

The body of this guitar is cut to a mid-sized Grand Auditorium style, featuring a single Venetian cutaway. The top is made from Sitka spruce and finished with a very subtle Wild Honey burst that showcases the grain of this beautiful tonewood with very little interruption. This resonant top is paired with a back and sides made from East Indian rosewood, featuring a slightly darker complexion to contrast the top wood. The back also features a stunning maple wedge, separating the two halves of the back of the guitar, which showcase the deep, dark coloring of rosewood's grain. The entire body is finished in a clear gloss, and flamed maple binding surrounds the perimeter of the body, while a single-ring, boxwood rosette surrounds the perimeter of the sound hole.

This C14ce boasts a Neotropical mahogany neck, topped with a fingerboard carved from West African Crelicam Ebony, and topped with gorgeous custom Hook and Latch inlays, made of boxwood. The headstock, featuring a veneer of the same West African Crelicam Ebony, is topped with Gotoh 510 Antique Gold tuning machines.

In the realm of electronics, this guitar boasts Taylor's ES-2 system, with Volume, Treble, and Bass control knobs, and a Piezo pickup that faithfully recreates this guitar's sound in live settings. Further details include its use of bone bridge pins, and its lack of a pickguard to understate its simple yet beautiful design.
