Taylor Gold Label 810e Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Sitka Spruce/Honduran Rosewood

Rich in heritage and ready to start some new traditions, the Taylor Guitars Gold Label 810e Dreadnought is an invigorating take on classic Taylor tenets. Part of the fresh, new, celebrated Gold Label Collection, this Taylor dreadnought assembles with a quality tonewood heart and plenty of aesthetic flourishes, to boot.

The Taylor Gold Label Collection is a series of instruments that celebrates classic Taylor sounds and styles with interesting, new spins all around. A standby tonewood combination and body shape at the helm sends this ship barreling full steam ahead in style. This Taylor Gold Label 810e is brought together by a combination of torrefied Sitka spruce and Honduran rosewood back and sides.

Torrefaction, a process in which tonewoods are heat-treated to bake out imperfections, create some simulated tonal "age," and richen colors, appears with Taylor's classic Sitka spruce top for a lived-in voice usually reserved for much older instruments. The brand's standby Honduran rosewood back and sides appears to back this spruce up with an increased body depth inspired by the Grand Pacific body style. Slightly deeper to increase resonance and bass response, this dreadnought body is a dream under the arm.

This experience does continue with a classic satin-finished Standard Carve neo-tropical mahogany neck matched with a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard. Bearing Taylor's comfortable frets flashing Mother of Pearl Continental inlays, this neck and board combo presents a fast, fluid, and flashy way to play. This Gold Label Collection model also holds the distinction of utilizing Taylor's new Action Control Neck design that makes adjustments easier than ever. A TUSQ nut and micarta saddle land at either end of this dreadnought's full 25.5" scale length for easy stringing and solid intonation. This playing experience is bolstered by the model's Fanned V-Class bracing pattern and translated to the stage with onboard L.R. Baggs Element VTC electronics.

Aesthetic appointments found with this Gold Label Collection entry elevate the whole experience. For one, a single-ring paua and Honduran rosewood rosette rounds the soundhole. For another, grained ivoroid binding and Honduran rosewood purfling add an extra bit of geometric accent. A gloss finish wraps this dreadnought's body while an included Taylor "British Cocoa" Deluxe hardshell case keeps everything safe and secure for travel.

Always going for gold, Taylor and their Gold Label Collection 810e Dreadnought knocks it out of the park.
