Torrefaction, a process in which tonewoods are heat-treated to bake out imperfections, create some simulated tonal "age," and richen colors, appears with Taylor's classic Sitka spruce top for a lived-in voice usually reserved for much older instruments. The brand's standby Honduran rosewood back and sides appears to back this spruce up with an increased body depth inspired by the Grand Pacific body style. This experience does continue with a classic satin-finished Standard Carve neo-tropical mahogany neck matched with a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard.
