The Universal Audio Apollo x4 Heritage Edition brings four Unison-enabled mic preamps, QUAD Core UAD processing, and 24-bit/192 kHz conversion to a compact desktop unit that tracks through classic processing in real time. Unison lets each preamp adopt impedance, gain staging, and nonlinear behavior from emulations like the 610, API, and Neve, so tone is shaped at the source rather than patched in after the fact.
I/O is arranged for hybrid workflows. Four front-end XLR combo inputs handle mic, line, or Hi-Z sources with phantom power on tap, and Unison support across all pres. Balanced monitor outputs anchor the mains, an additional pair of line outs covers alternate speakers or outboard sends, and two independent headphone outputs simplify artist cue mixes.
