Walrus Audio Canvas Line Isolator D.I.

The Walrus Audio Canvas Line Isolator/D.I. gives swift control to players looking to transfer their unbalanced 1/4" cables to balanced XLR outs. Perfect for retaining high audio quality when playing live and plugging into a front-of-house mixer or when recording and plugging into an interface, this device from Walrus is an infinitely handy piece of gear.

The Canvas Mono features mono 1/4" in and one XLR out. Two specially designed transformers are equipped with these devices, one for D.I. function and the other for the line isolation function. Separate from one another, each individual transformer is designed for low total harmonic distortion, meaning your signal will retain its full frequency response on either function.

In addition, the CanvasĀ Stereo Line Isolator/D.I. features buttons to control signal summing, high output padding, and ground lift. The Canvas Stereo Line Isolator/D.I. delivers a flat frequency response anywhere between 20Hz to 20kHz. When deciding between D.I. and line isolating, check the manufacturer of your gear's notes to find the output impedance of the gear you are looking to connect with. For high impedance, anything over 1k, use D.I. For low impedance, less than 1k, use line isolation.

Altogether, this quick rig addition can make live performance or recording an overall smoother process and to keep your sound intact and ready for listeners.
