The Voyager MKII establishes itself with a traditional "centaur" overdrive three-knob setup. At its most basic, the Voyager MKII rolls through a spectrum of overdriven tonality using its intuitive and responsive Volume, Gain, and Tone controls. This setup allows for a range of overdriven sounds, from crispy, leads-based crunch to chunky, chords-based drive. The Voyager MKII is a flexible preamp ready for any kind of playing need.

From there, the Voyager breaks from its "centaur" mold with its footswitchable parametric mid-frequency EQ section with a boost and cut range of twelve decibels. The Voyager's Freq (Frequency) knob then controls the center frequency of where its Mid control knob is placed, empowering players with a range of 250Hz to 2000Hz. With this frequency control, the Voyager can accommodate any guitar or pickup configuration and tailor tones to any specific style of playing.

A five-way rotary switch is built in to further customize the Voyager's sound:
